Newfane Soccer Club was founded by Detlev Enseleit in 1985. Det was born in Germany and grew up surrounded by Soccer. Det's Family moved to Newfane when he was 5 years old. As an adult, his own 2 sons grew to love Soccer and Det quickly noticed that many newfane children played soccer in nearby soccer clubs. Eventually with the help of many volunteers Detlev started the Newfane Soccer Club.

Our club quickly grew to over 400 children. Det was able to obtain a great location for the soccer fields in Olcott just east of Krull Park on the scenic Lake Ontario shore. Under Detlev's leadership the club has grown to include a full soccer program offering fun and challenging teamplay to children of all ages. Hundreds of families now enroll their children every year confident that they will have a positive and challenging experience. We Depend on dozens of volunteers who realize that a good soccer program benefits the community and builds character in our youth.

Sadly, Detlev passed away in the summer of 2003. He will always be remembered for putting the children first. He wanted anything that was quality and anything that benefited the children. His legacy continues as many volunteers have stepped up to ensure that the Newfane Soccer Club will go on and continue to thrive.
